We are seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious reporter to join our team at Flatwater Free Press.
This can be based at the organization’s headquarters in downtown Omaha or the Lincoln office, but a presence in the Omaha office is required at a frequency determined with your manager. There is occasional travel within Nebraska including evening and on weekends. This is a part time, non-exempt, time limited position.
Hourly: flexible, 10 hours during the school year, 40 hours in the summer
Salary Range: $17/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Collaborate with editors to refine and strengthen storytelling techniques
- Summarize complex data findings into clear and concise reports.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in journalism, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and impartiality

- Currently enrolled in or graduated with a degree in journalism or commensurate experience
